Japan will work out a common safety principle for all products. Even new technology and new products will enable consumers to confirm their safety. At the same time, a unified product code is made for all products to improve the recovery rate of defective products.

The safety principle will set out the basic rules of all products, such as "ensuring safety even if failure occurs" and "preventing foreseeable misuse".

The product safety law introduces new safety principles, and changes the original provisions for individual products to uniform regulations for all electrical products, eliminating loopholes in the law.

This principle will be extended to toys and elderly products in the future.

The specific safety standards of various products are formulated by the state to be commissioned by the Japanese Standards Association or the standard certification bodies of the people.
