We decided to initiate anti-dumping investigations on the import of caprolactam originating in the European Union and the United States. This is the second anti-dumping investigation initiated by our country for the import of caprolactam.

As one of the sponsors of the anti-dumping investigation, Shijiazhuang Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. has submitted the "domestic producer questionnaire" to the Ministry of Commerce in accordance with the relevant requirements of China's anti-dumping regulations.

Several domestic caprolactam enterprises also submitted anti-dumping investigation applications.

Under the pressure of dumping in the international market, in March 22, 2010, the Shijiazhuang refining and petrochemical company affiliated to Sinopec and the Sinopec Baling Branch submitted an anti-dumping investigation application on behalf of the domestic caprolactam industry.

One of the raw materials is mainly used for the production of nylon 6 chips. The manufacturers mainly focus on the European Union, the United States, Japan, Korea and other countries and regions. China's import dependence is always over 60%.

By the end of 2009, the global capacity of caprolactam was 4 million 950 thousand tons, and China's capacity was 530 thousand tons, of which nearly 1/3 came from Petrochemical Fiber.

From June 2003 to June 2008, China imposed anti-dumping measures on the import of caprolactam from Japan, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Russia.

In the past 5 years, the technological innovation of Petrochemical Fiber has been profitable for 3 years.

In June 2008, anti-dumping measures came to an end, the dumping situation of imported caprolactam was resurfacing, and the petrochemical fiber was cut off from November 2008 to April 2009.

Domestic industry begins to recover

"When facing foreign enterprises violating WTO principles and dumping on China's domestic market, enterprises, associations and government departments should use our trade remedy policies to protect the legitimate rights and interests of domestic industries."

Shijiazhuang City Commerce Bureau official said.

Since April 2009, the domestic caprolactam industry has begun to recover obviously with the anti-dumping filing, preliminary ruling, final decision, and caprolactam anti-dumping filing of nylon 6 chips.

Experts said that after the introduction of technology in recent years, especially technological pformation and independent innovation, the production capacity of caprolactam in China has been continuously improved, and already has a large scale production capacity.

With the completion and commissioning of a number of new installations, the total domestic production capacity will reach 1 million 410 thousand tons / year in the future, and the situation that the domestic market is in short supply will be gradually improved.
