Sonic Treatment In Xinjiang Can Promote Cotton Yield Increase
Xinjiang production and Construction Corps has been tested and demonstrated for more than 5000 hectares in the past 3 years.

Sonic treatment can promote the growth and development of cotton and increase the yield by 12.7%.
This research report is published in the sixth issue of volume twenty-sixth of Chinese Journal of Agricultural Engineering in 2010. The first author is Hou Tian Zhen, a visiting professor at the key opening laboratory of facility agriculture engineering of China Agricultural University.
Plant audio frequency control technology is a new physical agricultural technology.
The basic principle is to broadcast a specific frequency of sound waves to plants, resonate with the frequency of plant self sounding, improve photosynthetic efficiency, and promote growth and development to increase production and income.
Xinjiang cotton region is an important cotton growing area in the northwest of China, and is also the only one in China.
Long-staple cotton
In the production area, the area and output of cotton fields account for about 1/4 of the whole country.
On the basis of small area trials in 2001 and 2002, the corps science and Technology Bureau formally introduced the plant audio frequency control technology in 2006, and has been applied to more than 5000 hectares of cotton fields in the north and the south in 2008.
Studies have shown that sonic treatment promotes the vegetative growth of cotton.

The plant height, leaf area and fruit branch number increased by 1.71%, 5.25% and 1.14% respectively.
Meanwhile, sonic treatment promoted the reproductive growth of cotton. The boll number and single boll weight of cotton in treatment area increased by 9.22% and 3.34% respectively.
The increase of boll number and single boll weight naturally led to the increase of yield, and the average yield increased by 12.7% over the 3 years.
The plant audio frequency control technology has significant economic benefits.
The average seed cotton yield in the treatment area is 4803.1 kg per hectare, the control area is 4259.1 kg per hectare, that is, more than 544 kg per hectare, and the seed cotton per kilogram is increased by 2720 yuan per hectare at 5 yuan per hectare.
The study also confirmed that the effect of sound production is negatively related to the distance between the source and the sound source within a certain range, which provides a basis for the distribution of plant audio generator in large area production.
