Xu Kunyuan said that during the "11th Five-Year" period, the textile industry carried out a large number of scientific and technological tackling and industrialization of achievements in the 28 key technologies and 10 key equipment that needed to be solved at the time. High performance, functional and differential technologies are now applied to material technology, new spinning, weaving and nonwoven technology, high and new dyeing and finishing technology, industrial textile processing technology, energy saving and environmental protection technology, new textile machinery and information technology and other key technologies, and significant progress has been made in tackling key problems and industrialization. A large number of independently developed scientific and technological achievements and advanced equipment have been widely applied.

"But on the whole, the ability of independent innovation is still relatively weak, and the research and development of original key technologies with independent intellectual property rights are relatively slow, the ability of independent development and design of new products is still insufficient, and the ability of research and innovation to upgrade the textile industry needs to be improved by using new technologies such as electronics, information, automation and new materials." Xu Kunyuan said that due to the large scale and low concentration of the industry, the level of technology and equipment between enterprises is quite different. There is still a gap between the level of technology and equipment of a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises and the international advanced level.
