The Ministry Of Industry And Commerce Will Actively Promote The Upgrading Of Textile Industrial Clusters

China Textile Industry Association organized a national textile industrial cluster working conference in Beijing in November 22nd. Wang Wei, deputy director of the consumer goods division of the Ministry of industry and commerce, said at the meeting that "12th Five-Year" is a critical period for the pformation of China's textile industry from big to strong. It has both development opportunities and severe challenges. Promoting pformation and upgrading of industrial clusters is one of the key tasks of the textile industry in 12th Five-Year.

He said that the Ministry of industry and Commerce will actively promote the upgrading of textile industrial clusters, mainly in four aspects: first, overall planning and layout optimization; and two, the promotion of enterprises in the cluster area.

The development of China's textile industry has further turned to domestic demand.

Reporters learned from the China Textile Industry Association today that under the influence of the macro strategy of the central and western development and the three year adjustment and revitalization plan, the fixed asset investment of China's textile industry continued to grow rapidly in the first half of September this year, and the proportion of fixed assets investment in the Eastern region dropped from 77% in 2005 to 54%. The proportion of central fixed assets increased from 16% in 2005 to 35%, and in the West from 6.7% in 2005 to 8.36%.

The eastern region is taking the lead in developing from quantity to quality and efficiency. Many famous domestic enterprises have settled in Xinjiang. In the past, labor exporting provinces such as Henan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan and Sichuan have become the key areas to actively undertake industrial pfer.
