    Last Year Fashion Wardrobe

What is the trend of spring and summer in 2011? How did the trend come about? What trends will be likely to affect our wardrobe in the long run? Jean Philippe Evrard, a senior fashion analyst, answers for you.

    2011 PRADA Beijing show

    B= reporter

    JPE=Jean Philippe Evrard

B: according to your observations, what are the trends worth noting in the spring and summer of 2011?

    JPE: inspired by the folk customs of Africa and South America, such as Dior, Emilio Pucci, Missoni and Kenzo; sprite queer 1930s styles, such as Rochas, Sonia Rykiel, Louis Vuitton and Louis; 1980s feel of rock and motorcycle attire, such as ",", "and";

B: what are your expectations and what surprises you in this?

JPE: most of my words include rock and roll, folk customs and so on.

To my surprise, Louis Vuitton's conference, so straightforward Orientalism, did not occur to me.

B: last season, designers paid tribute to 1950s. This season also has the effects of 1930s, 1970s and 1980s. Will they contradict each other?

JPE: last season's 1950s style is really common in the show ground. The most typical example is Vuitton's entire series of hourglass dress.

But we have to admit that this trend has not really taken to the streets.

In 1970s and 1980s, their contours and styles were closer to the times we were getting along with, so they were more easily placed on the streets and accepted by ordinary consumers.

Moreover, consumers nowadays are less loyal. They like to mix elements of different ages. Therefore, the styles of different times in the same season do not contradict each other, but they act as an act of giving their best.

B: what trends have been extended from the previous quarter in the current trend of your season? What are the first ones for this season?

The JPE:1980 style has invaded the fashion industry two years ago. Since then, although it is no longer brilliant, it has not been far away. The 80s style of this season will focus on Punk's neutral suit and nine hole pants.

The style of 70s has also been popular for quite a long time. In autumn and winter, it is reflected by folk customs, and in spring and summer, it is pformed by Hippie or disco style.

In addition, the army wind that I just forgot to mention is popular in the last season with its green and pilot jacket, and this season has continued.

As for spring and summer 2011

    Trend

    I think it's 1930s style.

Whether it's old Shanghai on Vuitton show.

    feel

Or Prada's hairstyle and decorations in the jazz age are very new to me.

B: what do you think led to 1930s?

    style

    Regression?

JPE: history has its own similarity.

The economic crisis that occurred at the end of the 1920s gave birth to the 30s of singing and dancing. Therefore, it is not surprising that we just got out of the economic crisis to learn from 30s.

In addition, the line sense of decorative art (Art Deco) is quite common in fashion design in recent years. It is evident that designers are very popular about the fashion of that era, which laid the foundation for the official appointment in 30s.

B: is the improvement of the economic performance on the T stage?

JPE: of course, when was the last time we saw so many bright yellow and blue colors?

B: it is worth mentioning that the skirt will inevitably fall down this year.

Do you think the "skirt theory" of economics is still valid today?

JPE: the decentralization of this season is not so much a reflection of the economy, but rather a follow-up effect of the last 1950s retro skirt.

In the past two years, the skirt has been moving up and down on the knees. The designer has tried the two extremes of "super long" and "super short". Now, he has finally grasped the balance, that is, just over knee length.

B: minimalist designers were successful in the last season, and their influence seems to have weakened this season.

    JPE: minimalism also needs change.

Take Jil Sander as an example, Raf Simons created many printing and bright colors that are not very simple at first glance.

From this we find that minimalism can also be colorful.

In my opinion, in the future, minimalist things will certainly not pop out of fashion, because they are mostly the most elegant and classic design, but the new minimalism will be displayed in a more luxurious fabric and richer image, so I am called "post aristocracy".

The trend of autumn and winter in B:2010 can be condensed into a camel coat and a pilot jacket. So what kind of products can reflect the trend of spring and summer in 2011?

JPE: woolen fabric jacket and dress, military style Multi Pocket trousers.

B: what makes us curious is why designers can always think of a piece together. Is it purely coincidental, or is it because they consulted the same Forecast Ltd in advance?

JPE: such "secret organization" does not exist.

There is a certain degree of tacit agreement among big designers because their design inspiration often comes from recent art events, such as a popular movie or exhibition.

They are not going to discuss what kind of design to launch together. It's all about timing.

For example, you can see traces of Yves SaintLaurent in many designers' series this season, such as the combination of master's symbolic pink and orange colors, or decorative elements from Africa and the Far East, all related to the Saint Laurent retrospective held six months ago in Paris.

Next, his films and biographies will be launched one by one, which will certainly push his design style to the next season's wardrobe.

B: who is the most influential designer among the active designers?

JPE:Marc Jacobs, Miuccia Prada and Consuelo Castiglioni of Marni.

B: the fashion industry is becoming increasingly democratic. The popularity of blogs and the emergence of fast-food fashion shops such as Zara and H&M make the public feel more and more keen on the trend. Does this require designers to control the trend more and more, and speed up the demise of every trend?

JPE: from a designer's point of view, this is indeed the case.

In the past, a trend may take several seasons to go from the stretches to the streets; now, the new series is not yet on the market, and after the Zara "draw lessons", a number of trends have only one season of vitality, half a year after the announcement.

However, from a consumer's point of view, this is not a bad thing.

In this era, we advocate individuality and mashup. What consumers want is not a trend, but the more, the better.

When fashion magazines introduce military winds, they teach readers how to integrate them with other elements rather than from head to toe.

B: according to you, what trends do you have this season that will sustain vitality and which may soon be out of date?

JPE:1930 style looks exaggerated, but if we think of it as a strong graphic design, such as color stripes T-shirt and large color dress, it may become necessary for everyone's wardrobe in the future.

The fashionable Army Style and the 1970s style will not vanish immediately because of their fashionable and easy wearing characteristics.

As for which kind of products will be out of date, I think the half skirts are not too long. Although the length of the "two inches below the knee" is red, I still can't look at the proportion of this old gas.

Jean Philippe Evrard, a former Thierry Mugler design assistant, has worked in the fashion circle for many years and has a very deep view of the trend.

His rich resume includes director of design studio of Emilio Pucci, product guidance of Escada, and Brand Strategist of Kenzo, Christian Lacroix, Lancel and Narciso Rodriguez.

He is currently an artistic director in MLC fashion information, France.
