According to statistics, in 2010, the number of footwear exported to Guangxi reached 2 million 330 thousand pairs and the value of goods exported was 24 million 490 thousand US dollars, up 160% and 233% respectively from the same period last year. The number of production enterprises has increased from 4 to 9, and the value of export footwear has risen from seventh in the western provinces and cities in 2008 and sixth in 2010.
China is the world's largest footwear exporter. According to statistics, in 2010, the number of exported shoes was 9 billion 424 million pairs and the value of goods was 34 billion 982 million dollars. The number of exported shoes in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang and eastern provinces reached 6 billion pairs, accounting for 70% of the total value of exports of shoes.
