Li Yuan, a native of Chaozhou, who had worked in photography and graphic media, said she never thought of one day going into fashion design.

She is now in 617-627KingStreet, Newtown's J&CBoutique store. She started with her boyfriend Joe. The name of the shop is also named after two people.

Li Yuan said that J&C was made up of a design team. Usually after she conceived and drafted, she would discuss the modification with the team members.

They never emphasize their characteristics in the design process. They simply design from a prospective bride's perspective, and how to dress beautifully and comfortably.

They include many special embroidery lace and stereoscopic patterns in the design, which are not seen in other places, and every series of J&C is designed around a theme.

The design concept of Li Yuan is to combine the traditional technology and fashion in Chaozhou, so that the beauty of conflict can be expressed in complementarity between tradition and fashion.

For journalists asked why they choose to design wedding clothes, Li Yuan said that because she is from Chaozhou, and Chaozhou is the world's wedding dress city, since the 30s of last century, Chaozhou has been the unique embroidery and bead rust technology through the then Western-style clothes spread to all parts of the world.

There are many large and small wedding dress workshops and factories in Chaozhou. In many European countries, there are division factories and embroidery workshops. In the past, Chaozhou wedding dress factories were dominated by a large number of manufacturing processes, but she hoped to add Chaozhou traditional crafts elements to fashion design, and started designing their own wedding dresses.

Luckily, her concept was also supported by several multinational factories in Chaozhou.

At present, J&C's design samples and Couture (custom) are all made in Australia. After the design is finished, she will choose the cloth himself, which is processed by the traditional embroidery technician from Chaozhou and the local tailor. Their ready-to-wear (finished wedding dress) is produced by Chaozhou's wedding dress factory.

Li Yuan's customers come from all walks of life. Besides the wedding dress, she also designs some simple tailored evening wear.

Her guests include actors, models, and student groups who want to attend graduation party.

Li Yuan likes to incorporate Oriental elements into her designs. She thinks these Oriental elements are very popular with customers everywhere.

Their works have become the top brands of fairs.

Li Yuan said that Chinese designers who engaged in wedding dresses in Australia were not only one of them, but often because the design of wedding dresses and evening dresses was western, which made Chinese designers not confident to publish. But she felt that as long as they were original designs, they should look for opportunities to publish and publicize.

Most of the wedding dresses and dresses that took part in the show were their 2011-2012 brand new "Oceanic" series. They made much effort in designing and handcraft details, and made many reforms. The most complex skirt took two months to complete.
