    As a high-strength fiber, the consumption of para aramid in recent years has been mainly concentrated in bulletproof protective materials, rope materials, rubber industry and composite materials. The market has been monopolized by DuPont and Japanese Tek for a long time.

    Industrialization will break through during the "12th Five-Year" period


    With regard to the current development of China's aramid fiber industry, the reporter interviewed Ye Yongmao, chief consultant of China Chemical Fiber Industry Association.

    Ye Yongmao said that para aramid has been running abroad for more than 30 years, and production technology, quality management and application technology are very mature. The current situation has developed to the third generation technology, namely integrated production technology, and its production cost has also been greatly reduced.

    According to the application area, the structure of varieties can be divided into more than 100 varieties, which can meet the needs of different terminal markets.

    He said, at present, the bottleneck restricting the development of domestic aramid fiber industry is mainly technology, including engineering key technology, main raw material production technology and key equipment processing and manufacturing technology.


    In accordance with the "12th Five-Year plan", during this period, China's 1000 ton grade aramid fiber production technology will break through and will enter a rapid growth period, thus leading to the rapid development of related industries.

    Focusing on the strategic emerging industries, major projects of national economic construction, national defense industry and upgrading of materials industry structure, China Chemical Fiber Industry Association has focused on the demand for downstream main application areas, the self-sufficiency rate of products and the main varieties needed to import.

    In the next 10 years, domestic automobile, telecommunications, high-speed railway, aviation and protection will develop rapidly, and the demand for aramid fiber is booming. At the same time, the pfer of foreign downstream processing enterprises to the domestic industry will also stimulate the growth of domestic demand for aramid fiber.

    It is estimated that domestic demand for aramid fiber will exceed 10000 tons in 2015 and over 20000 tons in 2020. It is predicted that in 2015, domestic demand will be 2000 tons for aramid filament, 1000 tons for high strength, 2000 tons for high model, 2000 tons for aramid fiber and 3000 tons for aramid pulp.

    In addition, by 2015, the domestic supply of aramid will reach 50%, reaching 80% in 2020.


    Manufacturing enterprises have called for the early application of aramid to the Chinese aramid market, forming a set of applied standards for foreign products.

    Many domestic application standards are based on foreign products, virtually creating barriers to entry of domestic aramid products and seriously affecting the development of national enterprises.

    It is suggested that relevant departments of the state should formulate corresponding standards for the application of aramid products as soon as possible, and introduce relevant policies to encourage the technological development and market application of domestic aramid products.
