The Gansu Institute of Finance and economics, founded in 1958, was formally approved by the State Council in 1981 7. It is the only financial institution in Gansu, Qinghai and Ningxia provinces.

The school was under the leadership of the former Ministry of Commerce and the former Ministry of internal trade. In July 1998, according to the spirit of the relevant documents of the State Council, the central and local management system was established.

The school has two campuses of peace and Dujia beach, covering an area of 1450 mu, with a building area of 638 thousand and 800 square meters, a total of 56 million 507 thousand and 200 yuan for teaching and research instruments and 2 million 239 thousand and 200 books, 1 million 288 thousand and 300 volumes of paper books, and 950 thousand and 900 volumes of e-books. Founded in 1992, the College of Arts is the earliest and largest school in Gansu province.

There are 44 teaching classes and 1400 students.

The college has 2 departments: Art Design and music performance, and has 6 professional directions: art design, music performance, visual communication design, fashion design, public art design, interior design, vocal music performance and instrumental music performance (public art major and painting major have been examined by the provincial education department and approved by the Ministry of Education).
