According to the AQSIQ circular, since January 1st this year, all ports across the country have made statutory inspection of imported garments.

From 1 to May this year, the Shanghai entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau carried out inspection and Quarantine on the 11575 batch of imported garments valued at US $228 million.

As of June 10th, a total of 178 batches of goods were identified at Shanghai port and were confirmed to be destroyed or returned.

According to incomplete statistics, Shanghai port has imported more than 3 tons of garments annually, accounting for more than 40% of China's total imports.

As an important port for import garments, Shanghai entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau has carried out thorough investigation and supervision and spot check on imported garments since 2005.

The failure rate of imported garments has been above 20%.

Since the beginning of this year, the Shanghai entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau has launched 6 inspection and supervision measures in conjunction with the jurisdiction of the region. It has been comprehensively controlled at Shanghai airport, Wusong, Waigaoqiao, Yangshan and other airports and harbors, and the statutory inspection and supervision of imported garments are carried out.

Importers are required to provide qualified declarations that meet our mandatory technical specifications.

The inspection and supervision of safety, health, environmental protection and anti fraud projects should be strengthened.

Establishing enterprise archives, mastering the information of importers and the flow of goods, etc., and destroying or returning products that are not in conformity with the mandatory technical specifications of the state, shall be destroyed in principle.
