Since the establishment of the school, the total number of 95 professionals has been approved. In recent years, the enrollment of students has been adjusted. In 2010, some professional groups were enrolled.

At present, there are 10 national key supporting construction demonstration professionals, 4 national pilot teaching reform pilot projects, 1 state-level fine arts majors, 14 provincial level demonstrative majors, 53 national top-quality courses, and 63 provincial top quality courses.

The school actively explores the scientific research mode and path with the characteristics of higher vocational education, and attaches importance to cooperation in production, teaching and research, application development and pformation of achievements.

Since 2002, it has been awarded the National Natural Science Foundation for 8 consecutive years, and has been awarded the National Social Science Fund Project for 3 consecutive years since 2007.

The total amount of scientific research funds in the whole school reached 141 million yuan.

In the past three years, 671 commissioned projects have been completed, with a total expenditure of over 6993 yuan, and the income of scientific research pformation has reached more than 2142 yuan.

Since the founding of the University, 435 patents and software copyrights have been applied, and 281 national patents have been granted, ranking the top ten in Guangdong universities.

The school attaches importance to foreign cooperation in running schools, and has signed intercollegiate cooperation agreements with 77 universities in foreign countries and Hong Kong and Taiwan regions. Through cooperation such as "3+1", a number of specialties have been established.

The school pays attention to the overall progress of the domestic vocational colleges, and develops cooperative assistance with its own advantages. It has formed counterpart support relationships with 26 vocational colleges and 168 secondary vocational schools in 10 provinces and autonomous regions in the central and western parts of the country.

The school has strengthened cooperation with industry and enterprises, and has established cooperative relations with 1851 enterprises. Each professional has established more than 5 practice bases and practice posts.

The school attaches importance to social services and brand image, vigorously develops teacher training, vocational training, skill identification and qualification certification, and has an annual average training, skill identification and certification of about 30 thousand people. It is a national vocational and technical training base for teachers, and a continuing education base for teachers in Guangdong and Shenzhen, the Ministry of labor and social security, Guangdong, Shenzhen high skilled personnel training base and Shenzhen re employment training base.

The school receives more than 4500 domestic and foreign guests visiting the school annually.

The school is committed to the exploration of the new mode of cultivating highly skilled talents, and initially formed a school running mode of "four aspects of government schools and enterprises, and three dimensional promotion of production, learning, and utilization".

Through many rounds of personnel, logistics and scientific research system reform, we have initially formed a dynamic internal management mechanism that teachers can get in and out, cadres can go up and down, and allocate more and more energy.

Schools have made remarkable achievements in recent years.

It won 2 first prize of national teaching achievement and 4 prize of national teaching achievement two.

In 2001, the first one passed the excellent evaluation of the practical teaching base of the National Model Higher Vocational College. In 2003, the first batch passed the excellent evaluation of the talent training level in the national higher vocational colleges, and became the first batch of construction colleges in the National Demonstration Higher Vocational College Construction Plan in 2006.

It is an advanced unit of national vocational education, an advanced unit of national spiritual civilization construction, and a civilized unit of Guangdong province.

In January 2009, the school was awarded the title of "national civilized unit".

In November 2009, the school successfully passed the acceptance of the National Model Higher Vocational College construction project, and officially became the first national demonstration school in the field of Higher Vocational Education in China.

More than 3.6 qualified full-time graduates have been trained. The employment rate of graduates in recent three years has reached 98.64%, 98.33% and 96.33% respectively. Graduates are well received by employers.

In 2009, the school was selected as the advanced unit of the National University Graduates' employment.

School development has been strongly supported by governments at all levels and from all walks of life.

Wen Jiabao, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, visited the school in September 12, 2005 and delivered an important speech. The former standing committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council made an inscription for the school two times and visited the school twice in November 1998 and March 2005. The former Guangdong provincial Party Secretary, the current CPC Central Committee Political Bureau member and the Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang made important instructions on school work. Chen Zhili, the former Minister of education, State Councilor and vice chairman of the National People's Congress, visited the Shenzhen Vocational College twice in November 1997 and May 2007, and asked for "theory, experience and results for the National Higher Vocational Education". The former Minister of education, Zhou Ji, inspected the school and praised the school as a model for the modernization of higher vocational education with Chinese characteristics, which is a model of modern higher vocational education with Chinese characteristics. Wen Jiabao, the deputy director of the CPC Central Committee and the vice premier of the State Council, inspected the Shenzhen Vocational College two times in November 1997 and May 2007.

School of art and design, formerly known as the Department of Arts and crafts, was founded in 1993 and is the earliest Department of Shenzhen Polytechnic.

Now there is environmental art design.

Advertising design, industrial design, jewelry design, exhibition design, image design, decoration art design and other majors have basically realized the docking with the relevant industrial chain in Shenzhen.

At present, there are about 1700 students in the college, with nearly 10000 school practical teaching bases and more than 1600 sets of advanced teaching equipment, with a total value of nearly 20 million yuan, of which nearly 4 million yuan is invested by enterprises.

The Institute has more than 80 full-time teachers, and teachers with high and intermediate professional titles account for 82% of the total number of teachers.

Teachers with master's degree or above (including reading) account for 68% of the total number of teachers and 70% of teachers with double qualifications.

The institute attaches great importance to scientific research. In recent years, teachers have obtained more than 300 scientific research and academic achievements (including published papers, designs, paintings, published monograph, teaching materials, works and inventions and utility models patents). More than 50 awards have been awarded in international and domestic competitions, and over 20 vertical and horizontal subjects have been completed.
