China'S Footwear And Other Consumer Goods Play A Leading Role In German Imports.
At present, whether clothing, shoes, toys or various types of electronic products, the German market is selling more and more products originating in China.
According to the Federal Statistics Bureau, in 2006, Germany imported 48 billion 800 million euros of Chinese goods, accounting for 6.7% of the total imports of that year.
China followed France and Holland, but became the third most important importing country in Germany before the United States.
In 1996, 10 years ago, imports from China were only 9 billion 200 million euros, accounting for 2.6% of Germany's total imports in that year.
In 2006, the composition of German imports from China was basically the same as that of 1996, but the focus has shifted significantly to technology oriented and high value products.
In the same year, 10 billion 400 million euros (including mobile phones and entertainment electronic products) of imported electronic products accounted for the dominant position of German imports from China.
Compared with 2000, the import volume of the product increased by 3.4 times.
For the import of electronic products, China's products have reached 23% of Germany's total imports, compared with 4% in 1996.
In this regard, the number of mobile phones imported from China even reached 46%.
Office machinery and data processing equipment account for second of Germany's most important list of goods imported from China, among which computers and their accessories are the most important.
In 2006, computers and their accessories imported 9 billion 800 million euros, an increase of more than 5 times compared with 1996.
In 1996, China's office machinery and data processing was only 3% of the total imports of similar goods in Germany, accounting for 31% in 2006.
Imports of traditional commodities such as clothing, shoes or toys from China are no longer the top of the list today, but imports also increased rapidly between 2000 and 2006.
In 2006, imports of clothing and leather / leather goods (including shoes) almost doubled, to 4 billion 500 million euros and 1 billion 900 million euros respectively, and furniture, jewelry, musical instruments, sports equipment and toys increased by 89% to 3 billion 900 million euros.
At the same time, the proportion of the above-mentioned commodities in the total import volume of Germany also increased correspondingly. Among them, clothing was 26% (12%/2000), leather / leather products 29% (15%/2000), and toys nearly 60% (2000 /40%).
Relatively speaking, the current import of Chinese automobiles and accessories is relatively low.
In 2006, Germany imported 372 million euros of China's auto parts and accessories (/0.81 billion euros in 2000), accounting for 0.8% of the total imports of similar goods.
