The Common Subject Of World Chemical Fiber Industry: Sustainable Development
FREDERIC VAN HOUTE, director of the European Chemical Fiber Industry Association
Developing chemical fibre is the fundamental means of environmental protection in textile industry.
2010 Europe
chemical fiber
The industry has begun to recover, and recovery is strong in some areas.
It is expected that there will be moderate growth in the capacity of the industry this year. Imports from the EU will increase by 10%, and the whole industry will continue to expand its market share.
In the future, the European chemical fiber industry will still face challenges.
European labor costs are higher, textile production is limited, EU regulations are more stringent, overcapacity in the world leads to fierce competition, market protection and trade distortions are widely spread.
Europe pays more attention to international trade and investment, and attaches importance to trade partnership with Asia, especially with China.
In terms of capacity, we propose to establish a reasonable assessment of the market, and at the same time, we should work together to eliminate trade protectionism.
In recent years, the public in Europe has paid more and more attention to the environment and sustainable development, which has an important impact on the development of the chemical fiber industry.
In contrast, chemical fiber has great advantages in terms of durability and land conservation. Many chemical fiber materials are recyclable materials. Therefore, the large number of chemical fibers used in the textile industry is the fundamental means of environmental protection, but energy consumption and waste discharge should also be controlled.
Innovation technology and environmental protection will play a vital role in the development of the industry. The European chemical fiber producers who compete in Europe will work together to achieve the sustainable development of the chemical fiber industry.

Global fiber surplus in 2014
At this stage of the world
fibre
The trend of output is that the world's output of chemical fiber will reach a new high in 2011.
According to the situation of chemical fiber production in various countries and regions in 2010, the chemical fiber industry has been fully recovered in 2010, and it is expected to continue to grow in 2011.
Among them, China's compound annual growth rate from 2005 to 2010 is 14%, compared with 2009 2010, the annual growth rate is 16%, and the two indexes all rank first in the world.
India's two indicators were 10% and 5%, respectively, ranking second.
In addition to China, India and ASEAN, the growth rates of other major chemical fiber producing countries from 2005 to 2010 are negative.
Despite rising domestic demand and soaring cotton prices in emerging countries, market demand and supply remain tight despite the rising global fiber utilization rate.
We predict that chemical fibre will probably oversupply in 2014.
In order to avoid the supply and demand gap expected in 2014, China's chemical fiber industry, which has occupied half of the world's chemical fiber industry, will play a crucial role.
The "12th Five-Year plan" of China's chemical fiber industry emphasizes the adjustment of industrial structure, which complies with the requirements of the times.
In the future, the Asian chemical fiber industry is still facing many challenges.
To enhance mutual interests and sustainable growth
Information switching
Making accurate predictions becomes crucial.
Actively developing Asia's local chemical fiber market, especially the non take market, will become an important growth point of the chemical fiber industry.
At the same time, in emphasizing low carbon and green twenty-first Century, environmental protection will become a conscious choice for the industry.
The Asian chemical fiber industry should further expand the FTA (free trade agreement) network and strengthen cooperation between more countries and regions.
There is still much room for cooperation between China and Japan.

Strengthening win-win cooperation in many fields
South Korea is the seventh largest textile exporter in the world. The domestic textile industry accounts for 10.2% of the total number of enterprises in the whole industry, accounting for 7% of the total industry practitioners.
In 2010, the export volume of South Korean textile industry was 13 billion 900 million US dollars, accounting for 3% of the total export volume of the industry, and realized a trade surplus of 4 billion US dollars.
In the future, the overall planning of the development strategy of the textile industry in Korea will mainly include strengthening the strategic research and development of new fiber products, promoting the continuous improvement of the professional skills of the employees, encouraging the textile industry to continue to develop in a win-win situation, promoting the maximization of the FTA win win effect, and expanding the textile and fashion business areas.
In order to strengthen the strategic research and development of new fiber products, South Korea has launched 5037 new products since 2007. These products have promoted the technological development and interaction of the whole industry chain. In order to maintain the core material advantages, South Korea has concentrated on developing new materials with good growth potential. At the same time, the development of Technology Textiles and the release of products have also promoted the development of Korean craft textiles.
South Korea specialized technical training in textile industry practitioners, and the establishment of training system to increase employment opportunities; through the establishment of fashion centers to provide more employment opportunities for idle female labor force, and to employ more foreign labor force; employ retired technical professionals to maximize the value of technical consultants for small and medium-sized manufacturers.
South Korea has proposed win-win development: strengthening the win-win cooperation within the industrial chain, opening up new fields to cooperate with other related industries, promoting healthy business philosophy, avoiding excessive competition and maintaining stable cooperative relations.

India polyester maintains strong growth
At present, the consumption of various fiber factories in India is about 83 thousand tonnes (the compound annual growth rate of nearly 5 years is 5%), and the demand for chemical fiber is 33 thousand metric tons (the compound annual growth rate of 6% in the past 5 years). It is especially noteworthy that polyester is the fastest developing fiber in chemical fiber, and the proportion of polyester in chemical fiber is about 80%.
It is estimated that by 2020, the demand for all kinds of fibers in India is expected to reach 130 thousand tonnes (compound annual growth rate of 6%), and the compound annual growth rate of polyester in the next 10 years will reach 9%.
India will continue to invest in upstream and downstream industries.
There is still room for growth in India's domestic market.
According to the prediction of relevant departments, the textile and garment industry in India is expected to reach US $220 billion in 2020, and the demand for all kinds of fiber in India will exceed 130 thousand tonnes, with a compound annual growth rate of 6%.
Among them, the export share of chemical fiber products is expected to increase from 4.5% to 8%.
The chemical fiber industry has formed a multi-functional mature market because of its low import, high domestic market, rapid development of high-tech fiber and rapid growth of polyester filament.
At present, relying on the strong domestic fiber manufacturing capacity, with the support of the expansion of the raw material base, India polyester production capacity continues to grow, and will maintain a leading position in chemical fiber varieties.
