The Sixth World Chinese Media Forum Opens In Chongqing

In September 17th, the sixth World Chinese Media Forum was held.

17 September, September 17th, at 11 a.m., the sixth World Chinese language hosted by the overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China, the Chongqing Municipal People's government and China News Agency.

More than 600 Chinese media chiefs, Chinese media leaders and media experts from nearly 50 countries and regions around the world will carry out high-level dialogue on the theme of "overseas Chinese media in the international discourse system" around the purpose of "friendship, communication, cooperation and development".

Li Haifeng, director of the overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Huang Qifan, mayor of Chongqing, Dong Yunhu, deputy director of the Information Office of the State Council, and the media representatives at home and abroad delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

Zhao Yang, deputy director of the overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, presided over the opening ceremony.

Before the opening ceremony, Bo Xilai, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Committee, met with representatives attending the forum.

Bo Xi, the Chinese media is already a very strong group and has a major impact in the world.

He welcomed the forum's settlement in Chongqing, and called Chongqing's World Chinese Media Forum a "right choice".

The forum will be held for two days. The media will hold high-level forums, expert presentations, Chongqing promotion and several group discussions.

Liu Beixian, President of China News Agency, will publish the keynote speech entitled "overseas Chinese media in the international discourse system" on the afternoon of the opening of the forum.
