Patagonia And Ebay Cooperate To Promote Environmentally Friendly Clothing Recycling Activities
Patagonia and eBay, an outdoor garment and footwear manufacturer, are launching their Common Threads garment recycling plan to help shoppers cross it.

Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, said that the Common Threads plan can solve the important part of today's environmental problems, that is, the carbon footprint of our clothing.
The plan first requires customers not to buy things that are not needed. If necessary, they should buy clothes that can last for a long time, repair them when they are damaged, and reuse or re sell clothes that are no longer worn. Finally, recycle the clothes that are really broken.
Yvon Chouinard explains that Patagonia is the first manufacturer that requires customers to make a formal commitment to reduce consumption and try not to throw clothes into landfills or incinerators.
The final stage of the plan will be a collaboration between Patagonia and eBay to create a new Internet market for customers to purchase and sell worn Patagonia garments.
Common Threads's Internet market is the first major retail brand to actively encourage its customers to purchase on eBay.

The used product is also the first multi seller brand store of eBay.
Customers who list the used Patagonia products on eBay must first commit themselves to the Common Threads project and become partners in the project.
Patagonia will not charge the benefits of Common Threads store.
Rick Ridgeway, vice chairman of Patagonia's environmental protection plan, said eBay and Patagonia created this unique store to encourage customers to locate the Patagonia garments that they did not wear in the wardrobe on eBay.
