The key technology is to select high polymerization degree and high fiber content pulp raw materials, special auxiliary and oil formulations, proprietary gel making and spinning drafting technology, low temperature low sodium acid bath crystallization and nitrate extraction process, and key equipment and components suitable for the process.
The project has applied for 6 patents, of which 2 have been authorized.

The environmental protection problems of raw materials can be properly solved.
Although modal fiber has been mass produced in Xingda chemical fiber, at the appraisal meeting, experts are still reluctant to forgive the problem of sustainable development of products, such as raw material supply, pollutant discharge and brand promotion.
Experts have questioned that raw materials have always been the bottleneck restricting the development of viscose fiber industry. Let alone modal production has strict requirements for raw material quality, where to find stable supply of raw materials? For this reason, Xingda chemical fiber technical personnel analysis pointed out that from the experience of the development of Mo DAL fibers of various companies, modle used pulp to have higher requirements for fiber and also had specific requirements for polymerization degree.
Therefore, the company imported several kinds of wood pulp from abroad and compared it with the special cotton pulp.
After more than two years of experiments, the company found that the raw materials that meet the requirements of modal production are not necessarily imported high quality wood pulp, and the cotton pulp produced for viscose filament can also meet the demand after being processed.
That is to say, the problem of producing the raw material of modal fiber can be solved completely in China. This discovery is undoubtedly of great significance.
In the process of modle production, the use of carbon disulfide is much higher than that of conventional viscose fibers. How to ensure that carbon disulfide can be recycled as much as possible and not pollute the environment? In this respect, Xingda chemical fiber has a unique advantage.
The company introduced advanced waste gas recovery device in Taiwan, optimized and rebuilt the existing exhaust gas recovery system of the production line, recovered carbon disulfide and hydrogen sulfide from waste gas by using carbon disulfide adsorption recovery and hydrogen sulfide alkali washing process, so as to achieve double purposes of pollution control, energy saving and consumption reduction.
Through the application of the device, the adsorption rate of carbon disulfide reached 98%, the recycling efficiency reached 75.5%, and the hydrogen sulfide treatment efficiency reached 99.5%, which basically reached zero pollution and zero discharge, and could produce huge economic and social benefits.
Experts believe that the R & D of Tangshan Sanyou Xingda chemical fiber not only breaks the international monopoly, but also adds new important varieties to the domestic regenerated cellulose fiber, which is conducive to improving the production technology level of domestic regenerated cellulose fiber, and promotes the development and application of a series of new processes and technologies through the production of modal fiber.
For example, to promote the development of high quality pulp and improve the overall level of domestic pulping technology, such as accelerating the research and use of low sodium acid bath to remove nitrate, and promoting the technological progress of the industry.
In the view of the head of Xingda chemical fiber, mass production of modal fiber is only the phased achievement of the enterprise, and there are still many things to do.
Including how to develop modle fiber products based on Modal fiber production technology, extend its application field from underwear knitting to bedding, denim, high grade fabric and other fields; how to further study modle production technology and pulp preparation technology; how to use marketing system to successfully achieve market promotion, compete with foreign modal products, and so on.
Moreover, the relationship between scale and efficiency must be carefully considered in the industrialization process of modal fiber.
Unlike ordinary viscose fibers, modal fiber is a high technology and high added value product. It is not suitable for large scale roads. Xingda chemical fiber is initially planned to achieve capacity of 30 thousand tons / year.
