Trade Agreement Between Pakistan And Indonesia Promotes Pakistan Textile And Garment Exports

Trade agreement (PTA), therefore, the export of textiles and clothing in Pakistan is likely to expand.
Pakistan business minister Zafar Mahmoud (ZafarMahmood) spoke at the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Indonesian Business Forum (PIBF), saying that the Pakistan Indonesia preferential trade agreement (PTA) will help.
Two countries
The total trade volume has increased from about $800 million to $1 billion.
The commerce minister said the Pakistan government is also paying attention to expanding exports of clothing and textiles to Turkey. Turkey is a huge untapped market.
He added that during his visit to Turkey, he held talks with Turkey officials on the PTA of the two countries.
Mr. Mahmoud also told business leaders that the government is looking forward to receiving a positive response to the EU's GSP system, which the EU said will give Pakistan some clothing and textiles to the EU.

Similarly, he said he will also meet with India to strengthen trade between the two neighbouring countries.
