Wuwei County is the first cotton producing county in Anhui province with a long history of cotton planting.

Over the years, the planting area has been relatively stable, and has been hovering around 600 thousand mu.

As long as the weather is normal, the output has increased year by year.

Eating cotton accounts for nearly 60% of the total population of the county. It is a historical fact that the magnitude of the reduction is worrying by investigating the cotton planting area in 2012.

3, the preparation of the purchase and storage price of the year should be fully investigated and closely linked to other crops.

In 2011, the price per ton of standard grade lint was 19800 yuan (converted to 4.15 yuan per catty of seed cotton), which we thought was too low.

In my county, no other crop can be planted, which is the most important and direct cause of the large scale reduction in 2012.

Through cotton farmers reckoning, assuming that a fixed price of 23000 yuan per ton is basically feasible, because planting cotton is costly, laborious, time-consuming and costly, and it takes 8 months to complete the whole process from planting to picking.

4, as far as the situation of our county is concerned, nearly half of the workers are over 60 years old and women because of the large number of labor force outflow. In the discussion, they still do not know what the national reserve price is this year, they just talk about the price of cotton and listen to the cotton dealers.

By the end of November 30th this month, the purchase price of all cotton ginning plants in our county remained at 4.1 yuan / Jin, while Cotton Traders shouted for cotton prices. The price of Cotton Traders was only 3.9 yuan - 3.7 yuan / Jin, and some cotton farmers had to hurry to sell them.

For example: Red House Township crescent administrative village, cotton planting households rather than surplus, in November 28th sold 500 kg of seed cotton, cotton dealers to 3.7 yuan per catty, through calculation, the net price difference per one hundred catties of seed cotton 35 yuan, only 500 kg of seed cotton, cotton dealers on the net 175 yuan.

5, cotton growers request: during the forum, cotton farmers urged the county government to use radio and television in the cotton purchasing season, and assign professional cotton personnel to announce the purchase price and the recent price of the cotton enterprises in the county on TV.
