Vietnam'S Exports To The EU And Footwear Will Increase Significantly.

According to Xinhua News Agency January 3rd, Vietnam economic times 3 quoted Vietnam's Ministry of industry and trade forecast that Vietnam's exports to the EU will reach $10 billion 400 million this year, an increase of 23.5% over 2007.

In order to achieve its export target to the EU in 2008, Vietnam will expand its exports to the EU in terms of clothing, textiles, footwear, agricultural products, handicrafts, wood products, machinery products, electronic components and plastic products.

In addition to further strengthening exports to the traditional markets such as Germany, Britain, France, Holland and Belgium, Vietnam will also open up export markets for new EU members such as Czech, Hungary and Poland.

According to Vietnam's Ministry of industry and trade, Vietnam's export to EU clothing and textiles will reach $1 billion 650 million this year, an increase of 13.8% over last year. The export volume of footwear products will reach US $2 billion 700 million, an increase of 26%; the export volume of seafood will be about US $1 billion 150 million, an increase of 25%; and the export of wood products will be about 780 million US dollars, an increase of 30%.

This year, Vietnam's coffee exports to the EU will drop slightly, about 820 million US dollars.

At present, Vietnam's exports to the European Union account for about half of its total coffee exports.
