Two, exhibition Brief

In 2012, the seventeenth Thailand international clothing, fabrics and accessories procurement Expo (GMS2012) is the only exhibition in Thailand that integrates garments, fabrics and accessories.

100 leading technology brands from 22 countries and 20000 experts from ASEAN will be gathered at the exhibition. These experts have participated in the ASEAN Summit on clothing and textiles and have benefited a lot from it.

GFT will also be a source of inspiration for garment manufacturers to search for the most high-quality and comprehensive clothing, fabrics and accessories.

Industry Profile:

The textile and garment industry is the largest manufacturing industry in Thailand, with a total of 5000 factories, employing 1 million people, accounting for nearly 20% of the total manufacturing employment, and GDP accounts for 17% of Thailand's total.

The annual export volume of textile and apparel reached US $about 7000000000, which is the second largest export industry in Thailand.

Clothing exports accounted for 55%, and Thailand ranked 13 in the world clothing export countries ranking, occupying 2% of the global market share, and textile exports ranked 14 in the world.

The United States is the largest buyer of textile and clothing in Thailand, occupying more than half of the total 1/3 exported to Thailand, followed by the European Union, Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Middle East.

Thailand textile industry covers all aspects of the whole industrial chain from fiber to garment production. Although Thailand is not rich in textile materials, it produces many chemical fibers and has formed a complete set of industries, including fiber, spinning, weaving, knitting, bleaching, dyeing, printing and finishing, as well as garment production and household textiles.

There are 18 man-made fiber processing plants (15500 employees), 154 spinning mills (61750 employees), 673 weaving factories (57880 employees), 675 knitting factories (60280 employees) and 414 printing and dyeing factories (47200 employees).

There are also 150 sets of dyeing and printing equipment in spinning, weaving and knitting enterprises.

In addition, there were 2658 garment enterprises with 841520 employees, excluding those small factories with only 20 sewing equipment.

In sewing factories, about 10% of enterprises are large enterprises (the number of employees are more than 1000), 40% are medium-sized enterprises (the number of employees are 200-1000), and the remaining 50% of the employees are less than 200.

From the equipment, there are 3 million 670 thousand spindles and 130 thousand looms, of which 50-60% is shuttleless loom, 110 thousand modern knitting equipment and 758 thousand sewing machines.
