According to the relevant person in charge of the consumer protection department of Guangzhou industrial and commercial bureau, the monitoring covers 12 districts (counties) of Guangzhou City, and 100 samples of children and infant clothing sold by 23 distribution enterprises including shopping malls, supermarkets, professional markets and self-employed stores, involving 88 production enterprises. Mainly in T-shirts, knitwear, dress, casual pants and other summer children and infant clothing mainly, including high, medium and low grades of children and infant clothing. After inspection, there are 63 kinds of qualified goods in 100 samples, 37 of which are unqualified, and 37% of them are unqualified. It is surprising that there are many well-known brands in substandard products. Among them, the "Ying Shi" baby underwear produced by the Guangzhou Ying Ying Trade Co., Ltd. was found to have a variety of products, and the clothing strength and pH value were not qualified. [problem 1] two kinds of commercial formaldehyde exceed standard

In this quality monitoring, the decomposed carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes prohibited by the state were not unqualified, but 2 of the formaldehyde content was unqualified, accounting for 3.6% of the total number of unqualified items.

Hazards: formaldehyde is an important detection index affecting human health. Excessive formaldehyde in clothing can cause strong irritation to respiratory tract and skin mucous membrane of children, causing respiratory injury and triggering various kinds of inflammation. Skin contact with formaldehyde has sensitization, rash and other reactions. The toxicity to infants is manifested by asthma, tracheitis, chromosomal abnormality, and decreased resistance.

Shi Xiaodong, director of Department of Hematology, affiliated to the children's Hospital of Capital Institute of Pediatrics, told CCTV reporters that formaldehyde has a very long volatility. Some of them even exist in the body for 10 years. The serious consequence is that they cause malignant transformation of cells. Sometimes they can get tumors and malignant tumors, such as childhood leukemia.

Hazard: pH value is an index reflecting the pH value of the articles. There were 20 unqualified fiber components in the sampling test, accounting for nearly 40% of the total number of unqualified items. If the label is "polyester 30%, cotton 50%, nylon 20%", the measured results are "polyester fiber 48.8%, cotton 25%, nylon 26.2%".

Harm: because consumers often choose to purchase clothing according to the content of the indicated fiber content, the fiber content is not consistent with the nominal content or no fiber identification will directly damage the legitimate rights and interests of consumers. Some enterprises have a shoddy, confusing and exaggerated consumer behavior.

The sampling also found that the number of defective products was 18, accounting for 32.7% of the total number of unqualified items. Some products are not marked, such as manufacturer's name and address, and so on.
