The Panama International Trade Fair (EXPOCOMER) is sponsored by Panama Association of agriculture, industry and commerce. Every year, it has successfully held 30 sessions since 1983. It is one of the most influential fairs in central and South America. Every country has more than 30 countries and regions exhibiting.
The exhibition venue is atalaba International Exhibition Center in Panama, with an exhibition area of 22000 square meters, of which 13000 square meters are indoors, and 9000 square meters are outdoors. The exhibition time is March each year and the exhibition period is four days.
In 2012, a total of 17213 buyers were invited to purchase. Buyers were distributors, importers, wholesalers and manufacturers.
The Panama government has always attached great importance to international trade fairs, and regarded the annual exposition as an excellent opportunity to promote Panama's economic development.
To expand the impact of the Expo, the opening ceremony of the Expo was chaired by the president of Panama, invited many presidents from central and South America, political leaders to attend the meeting, and the Panama government invited the importers of central and South American countries to participate in the Expo every year.
As the Expo has a long history and an international exposition, importers of central and South America have made this exposition one of the most important fairs to understand the market and organize purchases of goods.
The Expo is a great opportunity to open up markets in South America and North America.
Buyers and exhibitors of the Expo are mainly from South America, North America, China and the United States and Europe. For example, South American countries include Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile and Columbia; the countries of China and the United States are Guatemala; North American countries are Costa Rica, Canada and Mexico; European countries include: France, Belgium, Spain and more than 20 other countries.
Market analysis: Panama has excellent geographical location and convenient pportation.
Panama is located at the southernmost tip of Central America and is the isthmus connecting North America and South America.
Panama is a major shipping country. The Panama Canal is an important shipping hub connecting the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean. Panama's cologne free trade area is the second largest free trade area in the world after Hongkong, China.
In 2010, Panama's gross domestic product reached US $19 billion 740 million, an increase of 11.2% over 2009.
Panama's economy is mainly home textiles and services. The Panama Canal, international financial center and Cologne free zone are the three pillars of Pakistan's economy. The income from the service sector accounts for 80% of Panama's GDP, and Pakistan's industrial base is weak. Besides a small amount of food processing, clothing, electricity and building materials, the demand for other products in the domestic market is almost entirely satisfied with imports.
The Cologne free zone in Panama was founded in June 1948. Currently, there are more than 2500 registered companies in the free zone. The main products are electronic products, clothing, textiles, footwear, jewelry, clocks and watches, hardware, sewing machines, gifts, etc.
