Raincoat Sampling Plasticizer Content Exceeded 196 Times.

But recently a Taiwan children's toy sampling report shows that the DEHP content of children's raincoat is 196 times higher than that of the plasticizer. Although there is no national standard for children's raincoats in the mainland at present, what kind of harm do plasticizers and environmental hormone nonylphenol in children's raincoats cause to children?

Raincoats are generally made of synthetic fiber products of varying degrees. Environmental protection experts, Dong Jinshi, Secretary General of the International Food Packaging Association, said: "the main component of raincoat is polyvinyl chloride, which is widely used in children's toys and furniture. In order to increase the elasticity and flexibility of PVC, plasticizers (Taiwan's plasticizer) will be added.

Dong Jinshi explained that plasticizer is a large family. O-phthalic acid two esters are the most widely used, the most variety and the largest yield plasticizer, and there are about 20 kinds of plasticizers. Among them, two octyl ester of ortho phenyl two formate (DEHP) is the most important variety. These plasticizers are not allowed to be used in food packaging for children and adults. DEHP is soluble in nonpolar organic solvents such as oils and fats, but it has low solubility, high stability and low volatility in water.

"Like plastic films and other membrane products, plasticizers will also be added to children's raincoats, but if the raincoat is hard and brittle, vinyl chloride monomer is not linked, plasticizer will also volatilize, in the volatile process, vinyl chloride and plasticizer will be secreted." Dong Jinshi further explained that the storm of the food additive "starting cloud agent" containing two phthalate esters plasticizer in Taiwan's milk tea last year was very vivid. Last year, the DEHP and PVC main structure were not combined with chemical bonds, so they would be released from plastics and pollute the environment.

Plasticizer DEHP can enter the body through the digestive tract of the respiratory tract.

Recent studies have shown that o-phthalate two can enter the body through respiratory tract, digestive tract and skin. It is declared by the WHO (WHO) as an environmental hormone, which has the function of female hormones, and interferes with the endocrine system in the body. If the concentration of o-benzoic acid two is higher in pregnant women, the risk of short penile penile congenital deformity, hypospadias and cryptorchidism is higher. If the concentration of o-benzoic acid two in the adult male is higher, the sperm count will be less, the sperm quality and motility will be worse, and the risk of breast cancer in women will increase. At present, the United States and the European Union have established specifications for o-phthalic acid two esters to reduce the harm of o-benzoic acid two formic acid to human body.

Environmental hormone nonylphenol can be used in clothing, which will pollute the environment.

"There is no single standard for environmental hormone nonylphenol in clothing related national standards, as is not specified in terms of plasticizer content in clothing." Dong Jinshi explained that the role of environmental hormone nonylphenol in textiles is the composition of dyes, dyed raincoats colorful, it is textile dyeing auxiliaries. "In fact, nonylphenol is also an additive that can be used in food packaging, and it can also be used in clothing." Dong Jinshi said that before some famous sportswear brands came to the environment due to the large amount of nonylphenol discharged into the water during the production process, they entered the environment through the water cycle, concentrated in the food chain, and enlarged the toxicity. Wearing raincoat containing nonylphenol was also possible to increase the risk through skin entering the human body.

"Previously reported baby bottles, barreled water cans and cans containing bisphenol A, like nonylphenol, are all phenolic compounds, which are also environmental hormones. At sufficient doses, they cause embryo development abnormalities, girls' precocious puberty, early menstruation, and male sperm incapacity. These environmental hormones are hidden and chronic, but they are not nonexistent." Dong Jinshi said that the environmental hormone is insoluble in water, but soluble in acetone, it can cause environmental pollution.

There is no corresponding national standard for children's rainwear in China.

"The requirements for the plasticizer content of children's articles and toys in the national standard for children's furniture in August 1st this year, which was formally implemented in August 1st, are less than 0.1%. The current national textile product safety technical specification is not specially aimed at children's raincoat, and there is a requirement for the formaldehyde content of textile products for children. A class a textile is less than or equal to 20 milligrams per kilogram and the pH value is 4.0~7.5, which requires that the decomposable aromatic amine should not be detected, but the content of the plasticizer is not clearly required." According to Dong Jinshi analysis, there is no national standard for domestic children's raincoats, which can only be chosen by enterprises themselves. "Many manufacturers do not understand this standard, so there is no control over the content of plasticizer. Second, the standard itself is not clear, especially clothing products do not provide clear requirements for plasticizers."

Worry about raincoat DEHP exceeding the standard, it is better to drink less thickener drink.

There are plasticizers and environmental hormones in plastic products such as milk tea, plastic wrap, raincoats, buckets, cans, space cups and so on. They exist in air, water, food, furniture and so on. It is also because they are everywhere, they can be enriched in the food chain and enter the human body in the environment. Compared with that, overdose of DEHP and nonylphenol in raincoat will increase the risk of illness, but it can not be regarded as a direct cause. Dong Jinshi said that especially when many clothes are wearing raincoats, rather than direct contact with the skin, it is hard to say that the evidence of entering the skin is large enough to cause direct injury. Instead of worrying about DEHP exceeding the standard of raincoat, it is better to drink beverages with additives, thickeners, preservatives and plasticizers. When heating, remove fresh-keeping films, do not cover them with oily food, and wrap up parts that need to lose weight without using plastic wrap.

Unqualified raincoats are more likely to cause irritant dermatitis.

Liu Lingling, director of the Department of Dermatology and venereal diseases, No.1 Hospital of Peking University believes that the unqualified raincoat is more irritating dermatitis and allergic dermatitis in clinic. Manufacturers of raincoats should have clear safety standards for plasticizers in products. Because of the short wearing time of raincoats, although the skin may absorb chemicals of trace plasticizers and environmental hormones, the impact on the skin is not great. For more and more attention to environmental hormones, water pollution, marine pollution, soil pollution and other environmental factors will increase the risk of imperceptible harm to the human body, which is a potential threat to the crowd, not just individual safety.
