Bangladesh Becomes China's Shoe Production Base And Destination For Overseas Transfer.

According to the chairman of Meng export processing zone, the growth rate of foreign direct investment is obvious in the first few months of this year. One of the important reasons is that some of the footwear manufacturers in mainland China, Taiwan province of China and Italy have made Bangladesh a destination for overseas production transfer. When analyzing the reasons why these enterprises transferred the production base to Bangladesh, the chairman believed that the main factor was the sharp rise in wages of workers in China and Southeast Asia, which led to the weakening of the competitiveness of footwear manufacturers, the anti-dumping of footwear exports from China and Vietnam, the low labor force of Bangladesh, the geographical advantages of Bangladesh and South Asia and Southeast Asia, and the zero tariff treatment of Bangladesh entering the EU market.
