Russia Announces Tax Cut Rules For Clothing Import Duties

The government recently announced the rules for the reduction of import tariffs on textiles and clothing after China's accession to the WTO.

The import tariff rate related to textiles and clothing is down from the date of accession to the year of performance and commitment.

The products involved include textile raw materials, silk, wool, industrial textiles, pure cotton suits, home textiles and other products.

The fulfillment of the import duty reduction is expected to terminate from 2013 to 2017, but most products will fall to the final import tariff bound rate until 2015.

It is worth noting that the import duties of over 30 kinds of products are reduced from ad valorem tax and volume tax to a single ad valorem tax.

The import duties of pure cotton trousers and ladies' cotton suits will be reduced to 20% yuan per day from the entry tax on the day of entry into the WTO, and the compound duty on the amount of tax of not less than 2.5 euros per kilogram will be reduced to a single duty rate of 2.2 euros per kilogram. The pure cotton and children's sport suits will be reduced from 20% ad valorem tax on the day of accession to the WTO, and the compound duty from 20% to 2 euros per kilogram will be reduced to a single amount tax of 1.75 euros per kilogram. The import duty of pure cotton gloves will be reduced to 10% of the ad valorem duty from 15% of the single day's accession to the WTO, and the import duties of pure cotton aprons and other household cotton fabrics will be reduced to 15% by the 15% ad valorem tax on the day of accession to the WTO.
