Export Footwear Unit Price Is Longer And The Total Volume Is Low. Why?
In the first quarter of last year, after the first decline in the export of leather shoes in more than a decade, the export of Chinese footwear products in the first quarter of this year was 1 billion 960 million pairs, down 5.3% compared with the same period last year.
Su Chaoying, Secretary General of the China Leather Association, said that since last year, the continued appreciation of the RMB, the export tax rebate policy challenge, the EU anti-dumping duties on China's leather shoes, the price rise of raw materials, and the increase in costs were the main reasons for the decline in leather shoes exports; however, the new product development and profit level of leather industry in China has improved, the import and export continues to maintain steady growth, and the proportion of the trade surplus has declined, so the sustainable development capacity of the industry has been increasing.
Facing the increasingly severe export situation, many footwear enterprises begin or strengthen the development of the domestic market. It is one of the main channels to find partners through participating in the exhibition. The international leather exhibition held in Shanghai in early September this year attracted many enterprises to participate.
Su Chaoying said that the key to China's footwear exports in the future is quality improvement, including increasing R & D efforts and improving the design level. Diversification of market development, intellectual property rights and environmental protection should also be paid attention to by export enterprises.
