Reporters learned from the third interview of the 114th Canton Fair held in Guangzhou on the 2nd that buyers from ASEAN came to the fair for more inquiries, which became the export highlights of exhibitors.
"The performance of the European and American markets is average, but on the contrary, many buyers from Southeast Asian countries are very active and hope to cooperate with us." Zhang Xiaoyun, the head of a clothing and textile enterprise in Fujian, told reporters that with the increasingly hot trade between China and ASEAN, the company is making efforts in the ASEAN market to seek new business growth points.
According to the statistics of China Customs, from January to September this year, China ASEAN bilateral textile and clothing trade volume was 27.1 billion US dollars, up 42.4% year on year. Among them, China's exports to ASEAN reached US $24.74 billion and imports reached US $2.36 billion, up 43% and 36.1% year on year respectively.

According to customs statistics, 71.5% of China's exports to ASEAN from January to September were fabrics and knitted garments.
The China Chamber of Commerce for Textile Imports and Exports said that since the establishment of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area, ASEAN has become the fastest growing market for China's textile and clothing foreign trade due to tariff reduction, complementary advantages in the textile and clothing industry and increasingly close exchanges between the two sides.
The reporter also learned that due to the rising labor costs in the mainland and the fact that Southeast Asian countries enjoy the most favored nation treatment in Europe and the United States, many mainland textile and clothing enterprises choose to carry out new product research and development and raw material procurement in China, and move their factories to Southeast Asia for processing to obtain maximum benefits.
