Shanxi: Spot Checks Show Infant Clothing Unqualified

The reporter learned from the Qinghai Provincial Bureau of industry and commerce that the industrial and Commercial Department of the province recently announced the results of clothing random checks in 2014.

The Qinghai Bureau of industry and Commerce recently made quality checks on the wool cashmere garments, children's clothing and pregnant and infant clothing sold on the market in 2014.

A total of 101 samples were collected, and 51 samples were substandard products.

Reporters noted that the above substandard products were distributed almost everywhere in the major shopping malls and supermarkets in Xining, including Xining Wangfujing Department Store Co., Ltd., Gansu Guo Fang industrial and trade (Group) Limited by Share Ltd Xining branch, Beijing Hualian comprehensive supermarket service, Limited by Share Ltd Qinghai second branch, and so on, and many other influential local businessmen in Qinghai, including "ten month mommy", "Heng Yuan Xiang", "Prince dragon" and "snow boat".

Qinghai Provincial Bureau of Commerce and industry, head of the consumer protection department, told Xinhua news agency that the unqualified items of garment quality sampling were mainly fiber content, formaldehyde content, color fastness, product identification and other items which did not meet the requirements of national mandatory standards.

Shanxi Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau released 25 quality inspection results show that spot checks of infant clothing unqualified product detection rate was 3.3%, quilt substandard product detection rate was 2.5%, pillow towel unqualified product detection rate was 5%.

The reporter found that the "fiber content" is the most unqualified item in these garments from the list of unqualified products publicized by the Provincial Bureau of Commerce and industry in 2014 in the field of clothing quality sampling inspection results. Among the 51 groups of unqualified samples, 32 groups had "fiber content".

In the 51 groups of unqualified products, more than 70% were cashmere sweaters and sweaters, with the exception of fiber content, the product marks and formaldehyde content were unqualified.

It was detected that the fiber content was not qualified; the "No. 24121" jacquard men's suit in the "Mi shuttle" brand was detected with formaldehyde content and fiber content unqualified, and the number of "cashmere cashmere sweater" of the cargo number (No. 4102) was not qualified.

In the unqualified catalogue of the clothing products quality inspection results circulated in Qinghai in 2014, except for cashmere sweaters, some of the top brands of pregnant and infant clothing were also found unqualified products in the test. For example, the famous Chinese maternity dress brand "October mommy" sold in Xining Wangfujing Department Store Co., Ltd., its number (No. 1892325) was a knitted casual pants, and the wet and rubbing color index of wet rubbing fastness was found to be unqualified.

"The industry and Commerce Department will deal with the sales entities that sell unqualified commodities in this sampling inspection according to relevant laws and regulations.
