This change led to a 50% decrease in cotton planting area on the south line this year. Most of the northern line was replaced by cotton fields, while wheat and corn were planted on the north line. When we investigated and contacted 8 farmers in Xiajin County, we planted 40 mu of cotton last year. This year, we have reduced to 17 mu, and the rate has dropped by more than 50%.

The main reason is that the above areas are mostly saline and alkaline land, and most areas are not adequately supplied with water, and irrigation can not be guaranteed.

In the view of farmers planting cotton, the implementation of direct subsidy policy is also a reason to stimulate them to continue to grow cotton. They all know that cotton is subsidized. At present, subsidies have been put into practice better. Subsidies in Shandong have been distributed to farmers. Although Hebei has not yet issued, subsidies have been set. In addition, farmers expressed surprise and gratified for this year's Shandong province's 235 yuan / mu and Hebei province's 160 to 170 yuan / mu Cotton Subsidy.

Based on the above three points, some farmers choose to continue planting cotton this year. A cotton farmers explained that from the allowance level, the state still needs cotton, or to support the market. The cotton price will not fall too far. If the chili is planted, it will be difficult to say. This year, a catty of 10 Fen yuan will be changed next year.
