Innovative Pportation Mode: Special Cotton Container Special Train

Xinjiang is one of the three major cotton producing areas in China. It has unique natural conditions in cotton cultivation. Because of its alkaline soil, large temperature difference in summer, sunshine, full photosynthesis and long growing time, the cotton in Xinjiang has the advantages of softness, color and whiteness, less impurities, finer fiber length, higher strength, and overall uniformity.

Among them, the southern Xinjiang is the most suitable cotton planting area in China. The output accounts for about 80% of the cotton production in Xinjiang and is the backbone of agriculture in the southern Xinjiang.

As early as March 29th this year, Xinjiang launched its first special cotton special train. The railway freight special purpose train adopts the "five fixed" mode of pportation, with the number of trains, the set up group, the fixed time, the fixed route and the fixed stop.

Although the special train has met the needs of customers in the pport time limit, because of the fact that cotton belongs to light cargo and is subject to the actual situation of carrying weight according to the marking of railway freight cars, there has always been a phenomenon of deficit pportation.

In response to this situation, the Kashi freight forwarding center set up a marketing research team, which went deep into the surrounding area.

On the basis of the investigation, a pport plan for using container to pport cotton is put forward.

In order to verify the possibility of container pportation of cotton, they shipped the empty containers to trial and assembly of cotton and hemp company of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps. After repeated tests and comparisons, the optimal loading plan of 40 foot containers for 112 bags of cotton was finally determined.

Compared with the original 60 tons of ordinary railway freight cars can pport more than 26 tons of cotton, cotton loss ton pport situation has improved significantly.

"Before the use of ordinary railway freight cars to pport cotton, we need to use corrugated paper, foam glue, plastic cloth and so on to load and reinforce the vehicle, and the container itself is well sealed, using the container to pport cotton, which saves the cost of loading and strengthening, and the pportation cost of the customer is reduced by 43 yuan per ton compared with the ordinary iron truck. It saves a lot of money for the customers."
