Goats, considered unprofitable, suffer a painful death: one worker slowly cuts their throats with a blunt knife, breaks their necks, and finally cuts off their heads; the other goats are dragged to the slaughterhouse, where they are shocked, one leg tied, their bodies hung upside down, and their necks cut open to blood.

"Every mohair sweater and scarf symbolizes the fear, blood and crying of a docile goat," says Jason Baker, vice president of PETA's international program. "PETA appreciates and respects UNIQLO and other brands. They make a compassionate decision to abandon mohair and call on other brands to join them."

PETA has a principle that says, "animals are not for us to wear," and we have asked South African law enforcement agencies to investigate and charge suspected violations of the 1962 Animal Protection Act. The investigation is ongoing.

UNIQLO will completely abandon Mohair products by 2020 and become one of the brands following esprit, gap, H & M, mango, next, Topshop, and Zara responding to the Peta survey. Currently, peta is calling on Fukushima JIKO to join in.

What is Mohair Fabric ?

Mohair refers to the coat of Angora goat, also known as Angora goat hair. The word "Mahai" comes from Arabic, meaning "silk like goat wool fabric". Later, it became the special name of Angora goat hair.
