In May, The Growth Rate Of Textile And Clothing Exports Recovered Positively.

In May this year, the total export volume of textiles and clothing totaled US $23 billion 831 million, an increase of 2.77% over the same period last year (9.55% yuan over the same period last year).

Among them, textiles exported 11 billion 640 million US dollars in the month, an increase of 3.92% over the same period (10.76% yuan over the same period last year), and clothing exported 12 billion 190 million US dollars in the same month, an increase of 1.69% over the same period (8.42% in the year over year).

Compared with last month (in US dollars), textile exports decreased by 6.8% compared to last year, and clothing exports decreased by 10.6% compared with the same period last year. The growth rate of exports of textiles and clothing in May was up to 18.9% and 26% respectively.

In the 1-5 months of this year, the total export volume of textiles and clothing was 99 billion 589 million US dollars, down 2.23% from the same period last year (3.34% yuan in the year over year), and the growth rate was 1.46 percentage points higher than that in the first four months of this year.

Among them, the total export volume of textiles was 48 billion 310 million US dollars, an increase of 1.53% over the same period (7.34% yuan over the same period last year), and the total export volume of clothing was 51 billion 280 million US dollars, down 5.52% compared with the same period last year.

Compared with the sharp increase and obvious slowdown of textile and clothing exports in 3 and April, the export of textile and garment industry stabilized in May, and the export performance of the industry was better than expected.

Even in the face of uncertainty brought about by the Sino US trade war, China's textile industry still embodies strong resilience and international competitiveness, and industry exporters should see more light and confidence in difficult areas.
