Dupont And Unifi Jointly Develop Sustainable Insulation Materials
The US yarn manufacturer Unifi, DuPont Biomaterials and outdoor expert Youngone three have developed a series of new insulation products to add more sustainable products to the cold clothing.
Youngone, the world's outdoor sportswear, textile and footwear manufacturer, uses DuPont Sorona regenerated fiber and Unifi Repreve regenerated fiber to create a new EcoLoft Eco-elite Insulation series.
The three party side claimed that the series was the first consumer recycling product, and it also used bio based materials for thermal insulation. These three products have all the advantages and reduce the impact on environmental footprint without affecting the thermal insulation performance.
Renee EcoLoft, global marketing director of DuPont biological materials division, said: "the EcoLoft series will provide a more sustainable, high-performance insulation solution for the outdoor market and provide multi-purpose options for the brand to keep warm clothing. This is different from the traditional feather or synthetic insulation products, which optimizes the recycling and reuse of renewable resources in order to get the best solution for insulation function.
EcoLoft Eco-elite insulation series include:
EcoLoft ActiVe SR (component: 35%Sorona, 55%Repreve) - a synthetic, vertically overlapped thermal insulation material, combined with the same weight of the same weight as the weight of the feather, has the air permeability, improves the moisture treatment, and has the functions of warmth, compressibility, softness and comfort.
The EcoLoftFlexSR (components: 60%Sorona, 35%Repreve) - Repreve and Sorona fibers have the largest multi-layer structure on the filling network, and create a thermal insulation layer that is lightweight and warm keeping for consideration of ventilation and motion design. Reduce product base weight, provide flexibility, flexibility and comfort for leisure market demand characteristics.
EcoLoftAirSR (ingredients: 60%Sorona, 40%Repreve) - like natural feather like fluffy synthetic fiber filler, it can be used for Puffer jacket and similar products. The material has good warmth retention, washing performance and humidity management, and can enhance product comfort.
Note: the Unifi enterprise of American mill has introduced Repreve brand nylon 66 filament yarn made from recycled materials.
