H&M's parent company issued a recall order for children's pajamas in the United States. The products involved are two kinds of cotton knitted sweaters, long sleeved blouses and trousers, with a total volume of about 9000 units. They were sold in H&M stores and online stores in the United States between July 2018 and May 2019. The reason is that the product has not reached the flammability standard of the federal children's pajamas, though no injuries have yet occurred.

In response to the H&M incident, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission called on consumers to stop using the product immediately and get in touch with H&M for the appropriate refund and gift cards.

This is not the first time that H&M has recalls product quality failures. In April, H&M recalled about 980 sets of children's hooded bathrobes sold in the United States for the same reason that there was a risk of burns. In July last year, some imported infant knitted jackets were recalled because of their color fastness. In November 2017, some women's sandals were recalled. The reason was that the sequins were not pasted firmly and there were hidden dangers. In May 2014, 65 thousand girls were briefed on their underpants because of the risk of suffocation.

Recall order can certainly prevent the possibility of accidents, but it has a certain impact on the image of the enterprise, and consumer confidence in the brand will also be reduced. As an international fast fashion company, many products of H&M are often made by factories in Southeast Asia. In order to reduce costs, quality inspection procedures are often neglected, and safety quality is difficult to control; different countries' standards also become the reasons for brand problems.
