Some analysts pointed out that the "boycott Japanese goods" campaign launched by the Korean people led to a decline in sales, which was the main reason for UNIQLO to close the shop. However, UNIQLO denied that the closure of Yue Xi shop had nothing to do with "boycott Japanese goods", but it had received notification from the shopping malls that it needed to be updated before boycotting Japanese goods.

Previously, UNIQLO has decided to close two shops in South Korea. The shop of 3 Street, UNIQLO bell Road, Seoul bell Road, is scheduled to cease operation in October due to the expiration of the shop lease. The nine old shop of UNIQLO will also be closed in August 31st.
