Textile And Garment Enterprises Hold Seminar On Anti Domestic Violence

In from September 3rd to 4th, a seminar on "guidelines for anti domestic violence in workplace of Chinese textile and garment enterprises" sponsored by China Federation of Textile Industry Federation and Shandong textile and garment industry association was held in Ji'nan.

Zheng Jian, director of the international project of China Textile Association, Hao Yang, project director of the Beijing Representative Office of the Asian foundation, Wang Lizhen, Minister of rights and interests of Shandong women's Federation and Zhang Chunhua, Secretary General of Shandong textile and garment industry association, held talks with the representatives of Ruyi group, Nanshan Zhi Shang, Dezhou Hengfeng, Shu long group, Yingli industrial and Xian Xia garments.

On the 4 day, Liang Xiaohui, chief research fellow of the deputy chief economist and social responsibility Office of China Textile Information Center, and other industry experts such as Liu Minghui, Professor of labor law of China Women's University law school, specialized training for textile and garment enterprises from all over Shandong to promote the establishment of a gender equality enterprise system and build a family friendly corporate culture.

Hao Yang, a project officer of the Beijing Representative Office of the Asian foundation, told reporters that according to the report on the impact of domestic violence on Chinese workplaces completed by the Asian Foundation in 2017, more than 89% of those surveyed claimed that they had experienced domestic violence. Mental health symptoms such as lack of concentration, difficulty sleeping and depression were found to result in a decrease in work efficiency. Zheng Jian, director of the international project of China Textile Association, said that enterprises will also generate additional costs due to domestic violence, including the loss of workers' productivity, the increase in welfare expenditure and the potential demand for recruiting new employees.
