At present, the cotton production rate of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Tacheng Prefecture, Bortala Mongolia Autonomous Prefecture and other northern cotton producing areas has exceeded 90%.


In Shawan County of Xinjiang cotton producing county, dozens of cotton pickers are moving back and forth in the field for cotton picking. The cotton picking rate in the whole county is nearly 70%. The large cotton picker, called "baler", packaged cotton into 2 tons of cotton bags, which effectively improved the quality of cotton. 3 years ago, it was less than 5 units in Xinjiang.


In recent years, Xinjiang's agricultural mechanization has been developing steadily and steadily. In 2018, 650 new cotton pickers were set up in Xinjiang, with a total of more than 3600 units. At the same time, the cotton production rate in Xinjiang increased from 27% in 2017 to 38% in 2018.
