Although the Tencent conference is a SaaS product, Wu Zurong, vice president of Tencent cloud, stressed that Tencent entered the video conferencing industry in an interview with the twenty-first Century economic report reporter.

    Why does Tencent want to make this product? This is the most frequently asked question when Wu Zurong introduced Tencent meetings to others in the past six months.

    He told reporters that making Tencent meetings has a certain relationship with the company's overall transformation to the industrial Internet transformation. "Because there are more and more business users, we find that there are many pain points and appeals in their meetings, which are exactly what Tencent can do."

    Wu Zurong said that the reason for this problem is that the video conference market in the past is a market dominated by special hardware, and vendors mainly rely on hardware sales to support business development, while software installed on hardware devices does not charge. Coupled with information security and the limitations of video conferencing technology standards in the past, customers who first built video conferences have chosen a privatization deployment plan.

    This has turned the enterprises that choose different conference equipment manufacturers into "isolated islands of meetings". They want to have video conferences with the outside enterprises, and they will encounter many difficulties in interconnection.

    Wu Zurong, for example, may have hundreds of auto parts suppliers, and communicate with different companies every day. The car companies may have bought professional video conferencing equipment, but it is impossible for all suppliers to buy the same equipment. So many times, meeting with suppliers or flying over is expensive and a waste of time.

    It is precisely seen that pain in this industry, Tencent cloud decided to do Tencent conference. The goal of Tencent conference is also very clear, that is, video conferencing can not only help enterprises to solve internal and external communication, but also solve the problem of cross enterprise communication.

    Wu Zurong said that the existing office meetings market lacked a relatively neutral and open role to connect everyone, because only when people were connected to each other can the whole office conference market be bigger.

    "As a purely self-developed SaaS product, Tencent conference also focused on the design of API at the beginning of its development, hoping to work together with independent software developers to improve the scene." In the face of the complex needs of vertical industries such as health care, education and justice, the Tencent conference can provide different versions and capabilities to meet various conference needs.

    At present, the Tencent conference has reached deep cooperation with hardware manufacturers such as Poly, Yi Lian and Xiao Yi Lian. In addition, the Tencent conference is still communicating with other mainstream video conferencing vendors in other markets. Wu Zurong believes that professional hardware peripherals are necessary to provide the best meeting experience to customers, and notebooks and mobile phones can not satisfy all scenarios.

    Wu Zurong said that many enterprises have bought CISCO, paulidone's professional video conferencing products, and many users have bought ZTE, HUAWEI, Koda, billion joint, small fish products, and more businesses have not bought video conferencing products for various reasons. The Tencent conference is to make meetings between different enterprises very easy. Maybe only a year's cost of a plane ticket can meet the annual meeting needs of enterprises.
