Ruan Fuzhong: Vietnam Promotes Multilateralism And Strives For International Support

Vietnam today (2020) served as the rotating presidency of the association of East Asian nations, and was also a non permanent member of the UN Security Council. Ruan Fuzhong, the general secretary and President of the Viet Nam Central Committee, issued a statement yesterday. Vietnam is determined to promote multilateralism, promote world peace and development and win the support of the international community.

The United Nations General Assembly elected (5) Vietnam and other 5 countries in June (2019) as the UN permanent member of the UN Security Council. Vietnam also held the rotating presidency of the ASEAN this year. The Vietnamese government will show Vietnam's foreign policy, hoping to enhance its international status and win the support of the international community for supporting the South China Sea issue.

Ruan Fuzhong said that Vietnam will complete the plan of economic and social development for 2016-2020 years and 5 years this year, and hold Party congresses at all levels to prepare for the 13 largest of the 2021.

Ruan Fuzhong said that the ASEAN played a core role in the regional structure, and all countries hoped to strengthen cooperation with the ASEAN. The ASEAN community with a population of 650 million has continued to grow in all aspects and has strengthened ties with its partners. In addition, the United Nations maintains world peace and the security of the international community, and the Security Council plays a key role.

Ruan Fuzhong pointed out that Vietnam has always advocated the implementation of independent, independent, peaceful cooperation and development, diversification and multilateral policy of foreign policy, and actively and actively integrated into the international community. The Vietnamese side is determined to succeed in serving the rotating presidency of the ASEAN in 2020 and the 2020-2021 term term of office of the UN Security Council, which is responsible for the international community and contributes to peace and development in the region and the world.

Ruan Fuzhong alleges that Viet Nam regards "concerted efforts and active adaptation" as the theme of the 2020 rotating presidency of the ASEAN, and takes Vietnam as the trusted partner of sustainable peace as the theme of the 2020-2021 term term of office of the UN Security Council.

He said Vietnam attaches great importance to the common interests of regional and world peace, cooperation and development, and promotes multilateralism, with the Charter of the United Nations and international law as the basic level, and contributes to solving the global and regional common challenges.

Vietnam served as a non permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2008-2009. This is the second time that it has been elected. Vietnam also held the presidency of the ASEAN in 2010.
