Total Retail Sales Of Consumer Goods In 2019 Totaled 411649 Billion Yuan, Up 8% Over The Previous Year.

Total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 8% in 2019.

In 2019, the total retail sales of social consumer goods totaled 411649 billion yuan, an increase of 8% over the previous year (6% in real terms after deducting price factors, the nominal increase below the special account). Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than cars amounted to 372260 billion yuan, an increase of 9%.

In December 2019, the total retail sales of consumer goods totaled 38777 billion yuan, an increase of 8% over the same period last year. Among them, the retail sales of consumer goods other than cars amounted to 34349 billion yuan, an increase of 8.9%.

According to the location of the business units, the retail sales of urban consumer goods in 2019 amounted to 351317 billion yuan, an increase of 7.9% over the previous year, and the retail sales of rural consumer goods amounted to 60332 billion yuan, an increase of 9%. Among them, the sales volume of urban consumer goods in December was 32704 billion yuan, an increase of 7.8% over the same period last year, and the retail sales of rural consumer goods increased by 607 billion 300 million yuan, an increase of 9.1%.

According to the consumption type, the restaurant income in 2019 was 46721 billion yuan, an increase of 9.4% over the previous year, and retail sales of commodities amounted to 364928 billion yuan, an increase of 7.9%. Among them, the catering revenue in December was 482 billion 500 million yuan, an increase of 9.1% over the same period, and retail sales of 33952 yuan, an increase of 7.9%.

According to the retail format, the retail sales of supermarkets, department stores, specialty stores and specialty stores in the above retail units in 2019 increased by 6.5%, 1.4%, 3.2% and 1.5% respectively over the previous year.

In 2019, China's online retail sales reached 106324 billion yuan, an increase of 16.5% over the previous year. Among them, the online retail sales of physical commodities increased by 85239 yuan, an increase of 19.5%, accounting for 20.7% of the total retail sales of social consumer goods, and the consumption, wear and use of commodities increased by 30.9%, 15.4% and 19.8% respectively in online retail sales of physical commodities.
