The World Athletic Association Issued The Restrictions On Marathon Running Shoes.

In February 2nd, the official website of the world sports federation announced that in view of the recent controversy on the running shoes of the marathon, the IAAF issued new regulations to ensure fairness in the competition.

According to the new rules of the World Sports Federation, from April 30th this year, any style shoes need to be sold in the market for four months before elite athletes can compete. If not all players can buy shoes, they are regarded as prototype shoes and are not allowed to wear them in competitions. If a shoe does not meet the requirements, the IAAF will conduct an investigation and study. The shoe will be suspended during the study period. In addition, the IAAF has made relevant design details, for example, shoes can not contain multiple rigid inserting panels.

Statistics show that in October 2019, Kipjoge, a famous Kenya veteran, ran into the 2 hour mark of the whole marathon under the "laboratory conditions" and became the first person to complete the whole horse race in two hours. Koski then raised the world marathon world record for 81 seconds in the Chicago marathon 16 days later.

It is reported that, because Kipjoge and Koski both wear the same series of running shoes, besides running a thick foam sole and forefoot air cushion, the most notable feature of the running shoes is that they are embedded with carbon fiber material and radian hard plate in the middle of the shoes, which can effectively push the athletes forward. Therefore, some competitors protested that it was unfair competition.

In this regard, Sebastian C, chairman of the World Sports Federation, said: "we have no intention of supervising the whole sports shoes market, but ensuring the fairness of the elite competition is our duty. We must make sure that the running shoes worn by the athletes can not provide unfair help."
