Global Online Shopping Orders Increased By 88% During The Epidemic.
Internet shopping market research firm Internet Retailing recently quoted marketing company Mapp's data. Compared with the beginning of this year, the global online shopping order grew by 88% at the end of March. DIY products, toys, beauty care and paper reading were the most outstanding products.
Because of the blockade around the world, people who stay at home have increased 212% of the average number of tools and building materials for DIY at home, the fastest growing category.
Orders for toys and cosmetics category increased by 90% and 64% respectively. Among them, the increase in toy orders was mainly due to the fact that schools and kindergartens had not yet started school, but it was not clear whether the increase in orders for cosmetic products was due to large quantities of daily necessities, especially hygiene products.
By contrast, as of the end of March, clothing manufacturers did not show significant impact on the new crown epidemic, and their average orders remained unchanged. However, due to the reduction of outdoor sports, orders for sportswear and equipment fell by 45%.
In addition, orders for home appliances (+17%) and electronic products (+9%) have also increased slightly, which is inextricably linked to the increasing demand for office equipment at home.
During the epidemic, people visited the e-commerce sites mostly from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., and the news was concentrated from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. People's sustained concern about the development of the epidemic has promoted the development of the international news media. The number of printed publications has increased by 68% and the number of Web sites has increased by 84%.
