Textile Exports In Pakistan Fell To A 17 Year Low.

Pakistan Bureau of statistics data show that in April, exports of textiles and clothing in Pakistan fell 64.5%, to $404 million, the lowest level in 17 years, due to the cancellation of orders and the global blockade caused by the epidemic.

Since March 15th, exports of major export destinations, especially in Europe and North America, have declined significantly. Moreover, as Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan have closed their respective borders, land export is almost nonexistent.

In the 2020 fiscal year from July to April, Pakistan's textile and clothing exports decreased from US $11 billion 127 million in the same period last year to US $10 billion 816 million. Leather exports also fell by 70.53%, mainly due to the decline in sales of leather garments, gloves and other products. On the contrary, the export of carpet and carpet in April decreased by 92.72% compared with the same period last year, and the number of carpets and carpets decreased by 92.04%.
