Jordan, China Sued For Marking "Jordan" When Selling Shoes
According to reports, Chinese Jordan sued Ku Mai and Amazon for selling Nike's AJ shoes with the word "Jordan".
Jordan sports Co., Ltd. believes that cool buy (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and Amazon Excellence Co., Ltd. marked the Chinese word "Jordan" in the process of selling Nike's shoes through tmall, Amazon and other channels, which infringed the exclusive right of Chinese Jordan on the "Jordan" series trademark.
Therefore, the court was requested to judge the defendants to stop the infringement and compensate for the losses. The company's request for infringement was rejected by the court.
Jordan immediately appealed to the Beijing Intellectual Property Court for a second time. Cool buy and Amazon believed that the use of the Chinese character "Jordan" in the sale of Jordan brand shoes was based on the authorization of Michael Jordan's name right, which was a legitimate and reasonable scope of use, and did not constitute infringement. The case is still under trial.
