Textile And Eco Label
● eco label:
In order to reduce the impact of daily necessities on the environment and ecology, and to enable consumers in the European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA, including the European Union, Norway, Richmond, Ireland and other countries) to recognize the "green products" officially recognized by the EU, the EU issued the "EU Eco label" system through regulation No. eec880 / 92 in 1992. The regulation was further amended and supplemented by EU regulation No. 1980 / 2000 in 2000, allowing traders and retailers to apply for Eco labels for their own brand goods. At present, the EU eco label mainly grants 21 categories of products, such as textiles, mattresses, shoes and cotton paper. The earliest eco label for textile products was established according to the 1999 / 178 / EC Directive of the European Commission on February 17, 1999. The EU eco label system is a voluntary system. The original intention of the EU to establish the eco label system is to select, affirm and encourage the outstanding products in the field of ecological protection, so as to gradually promote the manufacturers of various consumer goods in the EU to further improve the ecological protection, so that the products will not cause harm to the ecological environment in the whole life cycle from design, production, sales to use, and finally treatment. The eco label also reminds consumers that the product meets the environmental protection standards stipulated by the EU, and is a "green product" recognized by the EU and encourages consumers to buy.
● Nordic Swan ecological:
In 1989, the Nordic White Swan ecological label was initiated by the resolution of the Nordic Council of ministers. It integrates the Nordic countries and develops an independent and fair marking system. Nordic White Swan ecological certification is currently the highest environmental protection standard in Europe. It stipulates that products must meet strict environmental standards in all stages of the life cycle, such as the production place of raw materials is not subject to chemical pollution, etc. at the same time, the manufacturer should ensure that the products produced must reduce the impact on the environment in the production and consumption process before being awarded the Nordic White Swan ecological certification 。
● Blau Engel:
Blue Angel certification is an international environmental protection product certification mark. It originated in 1978 and was jointly established by the German federal government interior minister and the State Environmental Protection Minister. The German Federal Environment, conservation and nuclear safety are all the holders of the blue angel logo. Blue Angel specially investigates the impact of products and services on the environment: saving production resources (water, energy, etc.); producing with sustainable raw materials; consuming less resources in the process of use and disposal; preventing or minimizing the harm of harmful substances to the environment or health; being particularly durable and maintainable; being able to be well recycled and utilized; reducing the internal pollution of soil, water and air Emission of harmful substances; high quality of products (availability). At present, more than 12000 environmental protection products and services of about 1600 companies in the world have been awarded the blue angel logo.
● Oeko tex standard certification:
In 1992, a set of chemical methods and testing standards for harmful substances, named Oeko tex standard, was established by 14 European development appraisal institutions to test the sexual and ecological effects of textiles and clothing on the body. The standard values of harmful substances for human health are listed, including the standard values of harmful substances.
● Global Organic Textile Standards (gots)
Global Organic Textile Standard (gots). )The standard is jointly developed and published by the international working group IWG of gots, which is composed of International Natural Textile Association (IVN), Japan Organic Cotton Association (joca), American Organic Trade Association (OTA) and British Soil Association (SA). Gots certification requirements include: raw materials, production process, packaging and transportation, inputs (including auxiliary materials, dyeing chemicals, processing additives, etc.), production records, social standards, environmental management, quality control (including the detection of technical quality parameters and residues), etc. there are many certification procedure documents required and many on-site inspection control points. Raw material requirements for gots certification: certification shall be conducted according to the recognized international or national organic agricultural standards (such as NOP, EC 834 / 2007, iform, GB / t19630); all kinds of Organic Certified fibers can be used, such as cotton, silk, wool, flax, etc. Gots standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading and distribution of all textiles with organic and natural certified fiber content of not less than 70%. The final products can include (but not limited to) fiber products, yarns, fabrics, clothing, textile fashion (wear) accessories, textile toys, home textiles, mattresses and bedding and textile personal care products.
● reach regulation:
On December 13 and December 18, 2006, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union passed the new law on the management of chemicals, namely "Regulations on the registration, evaluation, licensing and restriction of chemicals" (reach). The regulation will come into effect on June 1, 2007. Reach is the most stringent management system for chemicals formulated by the EU based on many years of management experience to protect human health and environmental safety. The system brings about 30000 chemical products on the EU market and downstream products of textile, light industry, pharmaceutical industry and many other industries into the EU unified regulatory system, implements safety management for the whole life cycle of chemicals, and transfers the responsibility of collecting, sorting out and publicizing the safe use of chemicals originally undertaken by government authorities to enterprises.
●SVHC:
SVHC (substance of very high concern, substances of high concern) is a kind of harmful substances regulated by EU REACH regulation. These substances usually have one or more hazardous properties: substances with one or two types of carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductive toxicity; persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances; highly persistent, highly bioaccumulative substances; and substances with evidence of similar hazards, such as endocrine disrupting substances. The SVHC list is generally updated twice a year, usually in June and December of each year. The latest update was on June 25, 2020, when the European Chemical Agency released the 23rd batch of SVHC list with 209 substances.
