China'S Clothing Market Is On The Rise

From January to August 2020, enterprises above Designated Size in China's garment industry will produce 13.481 billion pieces of clothing, a year-on-year drop of 11.95%, a decrease of 1.47 percentage points from January to July, the China Garment Association said on the 12th.

From January to August, China's total exports of clothing and accessories reached US $82.609 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 12.9%, a decrease of 3.7 percentage points compared with that of January to July. Among them, the growth rate of export amount of clothing and accessories in August changed from negative to positive for the first time in the year, with a year-on-year increase of 3.23%.

From January to August, China's garment industry enterprises above Designated Size achieved an accumulated operating income of 819.890 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 14.36%, and the decline rate was 0.65 percentage points lower than that of January July.

China Garment Association said that with the effective control of domestic epidemic situation and gradual recovery of international market demand, the domestic demand market of China's garment industry has obviously recovered, the clothing export has improved, the main economic indicators such as production, investment and efficiency continue to show positive changes, and the operation of the clothing industry has maintained a stable recovery trend.

At the same time, China Garment Association reminds that the current changes in the operation of the industry are only restorative growth, and the cumulative growth rate of major economic indicators is still in the declining range. In addition, the overseas epidemic is still spreading, the development environment at home and abroad is complex and changeable, and there are many uncertain factors, so the continuous recovery of China's clothing industry is still facing certain pressure.
