At that time, the market demand for printed fabrics was huge, through the production of printed fabrics, the enterprise made huge profits. In 1992, Li Pengfei, a master of automation control, stayed in school after graduation. He will upgrade domestic equipment to "automatic transmission" as the goal of scientific research. Li Pengfei has a deep memory. On November 8, 1993, the new printing production line of the village run printing and dyeing factory in Fengyi village of Qianqing town was started. The flat screen printing machines produced by Shanghai printing and dyeing machinery factory are hard to find. They are sold all over the country and exported to Southeast Asia, while the prices of foreign products are falling one after another. From 1993 to 2000, dozens of printing and dyeing township enterprises in Keqiao adopted the domestic printing equipment upgraded by Li Pengfei. The output and sales volume of printed fabrics increased rapidly, bringing huge economic benefits to enterprises and laying a good foundation for the transformation, upgrading and long-term development of enterprises. As a technical expert, Li Pengfei frequently travels between Xi'an and Keqiao to install, debug and maintain equipment and train technicians for enterprises.

"Enterprises put their lives on that printing machine." Li Pengfei recalled that when there was a problem with the machine, the enterprise had to stop production. In order to make the machine resume operation as soon as possible, he was taken to the production workshop when he got off the plane, and he even slept on the flat cloth truck in the factory at night.

After eight years of sharing weal and woe, the school teachers' quality of serving for the enterprise, which is urgently needed by the enterprise, has been recognized and praised by the enterprise, and a good cooperative relationship and foundation has been established between the school and the enterprise. Since 2000, more and more teachers have participated in the development of Keqiao Textile Industry. Continued cooperation will bear fruit again in 2019. On October 27, 2018, Xi'an University of technology signed an agreement with the people's Government of Keqiao District, Shaoxing City to jointly build Keqiao Textile Industry Innovation Research Institute of Xi'an Engineering University and Graduate School of Xi'an Engineering University (Keqiao). On June 13, 2019, the textile industry innovation research institute was officially unveiled.

For more than 100 years, Xi'an University of technology has inherited the tradition of running a school in one continuous line, and has established its scientific research base and education base at the forefront of industrial cluster. Li Pengfei, the former "off staff technician" of the enterprise and now the vice president of Xi'an Engineering University, said that the establishment of textile industry innovation research institute in Keqiao was born in response to the situation because of the school's advantages in running textile and clothing. After the establishment of the textile industry innovation research institute, scientific research and postgraduate training have been carried out around five key directions, including new textile materials, intelligent manufacturing of textile equipment, clean production of textile printing and dyeing, fashion creative design and textile testing.
