The variety is strong, easy to raise, strong resistance to high temperature and humidity, high resistance to Bombyx mori nuclear polyhedrosis virus (more than 1000 times higher than Qiufeng × Baiyu); it is suitable for breeding in the Yangtze River Basin and the north of the Yangtze River, and also suitable for early spring, spring, mid autumn and late autumn in South China. It is the first summer and autumn seed to fight pyogenic disease in China. Its breeding and popularization solved the biggest problem in the production of silkworm industry in summer and autumn in China. "Huakang No.3" is a new purulent silkworm variety with excellent economic characters, Jingsong and Haoyue as breeding parents, adopting the same method as Huakang 2. This variety has the excellent quality of cocoon silk of Jingsong × Haoyue, and its ability to resist pyogenic disease is increased by more than 1000 times. It has the characteristics of strong and good breeding, high quality and high yield. It is suitable for rearing in the vast silkworm areas in the Yangtze River Basin and north of the Yangtze River; Huakang No.3 has excellent silk quality and high disease resistance, which makes it the best raw material cocoon base reserve variety in China. It can greatly improve the quality of raw silk and promote the sustainable development of sericulture industry. This variety was approved by Sichuan silkworm variety Approval Committee in 2018.

According to Xu anying, two pairs of new silkworm varieties, Huakang No.2 and Huakang No.3, have outstanding performance, distinctive characteristics and excellent quality. Their breeding has enriched the structure of silkworm varieties in China. At present, they have been popularized and applied in some silkworm regions of China, and exported to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and other central and Western Asian countries, and have been accepted by local silkworm breeding farms, sericulture farmers and cocoon and silk enterprises Welcome to the industry.
