In January this year, Nantong consumed 4.89 billion kwh of electricity, including 3.32 billion kwh of industrial power, an increase of 48% year-on-year, ranking the second in the province, with the total amount exceeding about 20% in the same period of 2018 and 2019. It shows that the industrial economy of our city is recovering strongly and rebounding against the trend.

Statistics show that the resumption of work and production in our city this year is good, promoting the industrial power consumption to soar. In January last year, affected by the epidemic situation and the Spring Festival, a large number of enterprises stopped production, resulting in a low base of industrial power consumption. In January this year, thanks to the effective control of the epidemic situation, Nantong's whole industry returned to work and production in a good situation, with the highest rate of return to work of 95.13%, which led to a substantial increase in industrial power consumption year on year.

Statistics show that the manufacturing industry is the fixed star of industrial power consumption in our city, accounting for half of the industrial power consumption. After the stable control of the epidemic situation, the domestic industrial chain recovered rapidly. Benefiting from the continuous improvement of trade situation, Nantong manufacturing industry consumed 2.936 billion kwh in January this year, with a year-on-year increase of 52.7%, among which the textile and metal products industry grew the fastest.

In addition, the continuous low temperature in January this year, the rapid growth of air conditioning load, driving residents' domestic electricity consumption to grow 18% year on year, has also become an important factor in the growth of electricity consumption of the whole society.
